Minister of Growth and Development Demo - A Magnetic Induction Communication Link

I had the privaledge of working with research intern Hailey Dowling, and postdoctoral research assistant Dr. Parisa Rangraz at the UWSTREAM laboratory, to test a magnetic induction link. The link utilizes two mutually coupled coils in the near-field that pass a signal generated by an arbitrary waveform generator, to transmit information wirelessely.

Our UWSTREAM lab had the opportunity to show-case this technology to Minister Colton LeBlanc, and partners Invest Nova Scotia, and CMC Microsystems. The presentation demonstrated the capabilities of wireless underwater communication in response to the government of Nova Scotia's investing $1.4 Million towards microelectronics research at Dalhousie University.
